<FORTYoz> Hermes`: well it was 2:30am.. I was REALLY tired.. so I thought.. hell I'll try to OBE on my couch instead of my bed so I don't fall asleep
<FORTYoz> .. then I was concentrating on my third eye.. and I guess I blanked out.. no vibrations this time? heh.. and then I was out and floating around my apartment.. fully concious
<FORTYoz> the vision was pretty clear too, but I felt like I was floating on my back and that I was stiff like a board.. so I was floating like that.. really weird.. and I tried to go thru a wall to the outside.. but my vision went gray and I started regaining sense of my body
<Hermes`> then you returned?
<FORTYoz> yes
<FORTYoz> I was a couple minutes long
<FORTYoz> not long enough :(( but very enjoyable
<FORTYoz> any idea why I was floating so weirdly?
<Hermes`> probably just because you are out of practice

<Hermes`> usually your first attempts are like this. Very uncontrolled, and very strange.
<Hermes`> they are to get your feet wet for the big one
<FORTYoz> I tried yesterday and the day before.. no luck :(
<Hermes`> well, it may take about a week to recharge your energy back
<FORTYoz> hmm

<Hermes`> that will change as you get more experience
<FORTYoz> I've tried about 12-13 times this month, that was the only successful one heh
<FORTYoz> but it's been a busy month, getting settled in my new place
<FORTYoz> plus I don't have the patience I had a few months ago, I need to get it back
<MagicMan`> whops sorry for the '+' ...that came out while I was sleeping on the keyboard :)

<Hermes`> with my very first out of body experiences, they came about one a month
<Hermes`> after about six months they started to get more frequent
<Hermes`> but do keep trying because that is the only way it will happen again
<FORTYoz> hmm, should I only try once a month or just trying not drain energy?
<Hermes`> keep trying at least once or twice a week
<Hermes`> but don't get discourage if it take a few weeks to get it right again.
<Hermes`> I do think however you will have much easier success than I did at the start...
<Hermes`> the energy of the planet is much higher now then it was for me 20 years ago
<FORTYoz> great, I need all the help I can get ;)
<FORTYoz> and the energy raising exercises work well?
<Hermes`> good, that is important
<Hermes`> I guess that was a question
<Hermes`> yes the energy exercises are the key to having more frequent OBE's
<Hermes`> I would do at least one MPE a day
<Hermes`> I do my MPE's during my morning yoga exercises
<FORTYoz> hmm ok
<Hermes`> in the breathing part of the yoga
<FORTYoz> does sex raise your energy? :P
<FORTYoz> funny thing was.. it happened the night after I had a gf over :)
<Hermes`> it can raise or diminish your energy with an obe.
<FORTYoz> hmm okay
<Hermes`> it depends if you are an energy taker or giver during sex
<Hermes`> and sometimes sex helps to charge up the chakra.
<FORTYoz> do you think maybe doing it on the couch helped? if I do it in my bed I usually fall asleep.. first time trying OBE on the couch
<Hermes`> however it can just as easily deplete them as well. What I find is that occasional sex sends the OBE's going upward and frequent sex lowers them.
<FORTYoz> yeah well, its very occasional, don't have much time these days to get involved with anyone
<FORTYoz> :)
<Hermes`> the couch is much better than the bed. When you use the bed your body is more than likely to just go to sleep.
<FORTYoz> ya.. I was sitting up slightly.. kinda lying down with my head up
<Hermes`> that is the position I had learned to OBE in. On the couch with my head elevated a bit
<Hermes`> later on I was able to duplicate the process in my bed.
<FORTYoz> heh yeah I tried that yesterday
<FORTYoz> konked out ;)
<Hermes`> oh well
<Hermes`> keep at it, you are getting there.
<FORTYoz> I remember being outside of my building.. but I also remembering being inside after
<FORTYoz> I don't remember it that clearly
<FORTYoz> only parts of it
<Hermes`> it may help to write it down after it happens
<Hermes`> that helps to capture the experience before the memory fades
<FORTYoz> yes, I should have, was excited and forget.
<FORTYoz> I clearly remember floating thru the wall.. expecting myself to end up in some strange place, but instead of the experience ended :(

<Hermes`> your spirit guide works real hard to get the conditions right.

<Hermes`> well at times it can work to your advantage
<Hermes`> if your body is real tired and your mind is still awake...
<Hermes`> you can make the body fall asleep and the mind stay awake. This is perfect for an obe.

<Hermes`> the sense signals get routed to other places
<Hermes`> in the nonphysical this is very normal...
<Hermes`> you can see sound and hear light
<Cyprus> yea
<Hermes`> but in the physical plane it is not, as the brain keeps all these signals going to the right places
<Hermes`> from a physical standpoint of course seeing sound and hearling light can be quite confusing
<Hermes`> but at certain times in deep trance or meditation it can be a very cool experience
<Cyprus> it's an interesting ability
<Cyprus> it's like a 7º sense
<Hermes`> I suppose it can give you different information than the normal senses, providing you can separate it from the normal physical sensory input.

<Cyprus> can it be develop like the psychic senses?
<Hermes`> I suppose it could be

<Cyprus> and then later (last Sunday) I saw something about in on the tv prog "sighthings"
<Hermes`> I usually see it mentioned with hallucinogenic drugs
<Hermes`> which reroute the senses signals to other places
<Hermes`> sometimes when I am meditating and it is real quite...
<Cyprus> they say that it is a "deficiency" on the brain
<Cyprus> that mixes the senses
<Hermes`> then some noise will happen, just before the noise I see the sound...
<Hermes`> it is weird
<Hermes`> I see the noise then hear it
<Hermes`> not at the same time
<Hermes`> but this only happens in deep meditations
<Cyprus> but this people can see the images with their eyes open

<MagicMan`> H, do you see sounds as soundwaves as well?
<Hermes`> when I see sound it is like looking at colored water
<Hermes`> it kind of flows one color into the next and expands
<MagicMan`> I don't get these in meditations its probably a split second where my brain goes a little wild ...sounds like "bangs" or "bumps" appear to me as lightning like soundwaves
<MagicMan`> only got these kind of sounds
<MagicMan`> maybe I'm not actually seeing it...maybe its something else

<Hermes`> well it is a hard thing to put into words as it happens so fast
<Hermes`> you see the sound but it is gone as fast as it came.

<Hermes`> yes it is fast like that

<Hermes`> I can never predict them
<Hermes`> it's been a week since the last one

<MagicMan`> hm now about me what was I doing over there?
<Hermes`> well often when we connect on line, the group shows up nonphysically for reinforcement of what we talked about.
<MagicMan`> saying or doing...I'm curious
<Hermes`> also the energy connection is strong between us all because we have been on line, so we are naturally drawn toward each other.
<MagicMan`> yea interesting...but I'd like to know what to do I do or not when I'm without my physical self awareness
<MagicMan`> oh I see
<Hermes`> you are you, but not in the body
<Hermes`> you ask questions
<Hermes`> or just listen
<MagicMan`> I'll try to show up more often so we can have a chat or something

<Hermes`> thought comes from consciousness
<Hermes`> which is the part of you that is independent of the body
<MagicMan`> the information of my physical self should be in my brain or through a connection to it right?
<Hermes`> you do bring parts of your physical self with you in the nonphysical

<MagicMan`> right we've talked about this before...now I thought being out of body especially not conscious would make a difference
<Hermes`> you don't need to be self aware to act like yourself out of the body
<Hermes`> your self awareness just helps to guarantee that you will remember the experience.

<angeleye> Hermes I am doing ok now.. but the trip to France was hard work
<angeleye> good work though.
<Hermes`> I suppose that self work is not that easy
<Hermes`> well
<Hermes`> I know it is not easy
<angeleye> well it was more a search for new ways to do healing on others. And it did involve more self healing than I thought
<Hermes`> there was a group of healers here in the states I knew, they used to call that 'processing'.
<angeleye> *S* ok?
<Hermes`> they would talk about the lectures and workshops and say " how much they made them process stuff within themselves.
<angeleye> yes!
<Hermes`> some teachers would cause them to process more than other teachers.
<angeleye> but I don't go to many workshops. I had a really strong feeling about this one..
<angeleye> yes.. I have the same experience
<Hermes`> well then it is good you went.
<angeleye> *lol*..yes and no.. but I'm glad I went there
<Hermes`> so this was a whole weekend?
<angeleye> yes.. the weekend before this one. It was good. the woman I went to [see] can heal the most demanding illnesses. I have a lot to learn but its ok
<angeleye> I am so happy that this path is turning out to be mine
<Hermes`> it is a very rewarding path, to heal others
<Hermes`> and it helps to heal yourself as well.
<angeleye> You know how uplifting it is to be with someone enlightened
<Hermes`> everytime I do a healing a part of myself heals as well.
<angeleye> yes that to hermes. to heal myself..*s*..
<angeleye> yes.. I know.. its very connecting stuff. healing.. You start to see patterns ..how you are connected to everyone. that there is nothing outside of you
<Hermes`> that is a good thought, because the real powerful healings come about when you view the patient as an extension of yourself.
<angeleye> whenever you do good to others you do good to yourself really......
<angeleye> yes.. exactly.. I see myself as a transmitter of divine energy..if a person is to sick or confused to heal himself
<angeleye> The energy wants to pour into all the gray areas. But is often kept from doing that by "wrong thought" in the patient
<angeleye> and I see these dark spots in the persons energy field.. in the body
<Hermes`> once you remove those spots so much can heal in the person.
<angeleye> yes ..that's how I work
<angeleye> and its also as if I make a dance with the energy
<Hermes`> that's interesting, what do you do?
<angeleye> like showing the person I am working with.. how it should flow.. without diverting to one side or go outside of the body when it's flowing from chakra to chakra
<angeleye> the energy makes a dance
<angeleye> its like footprints in the snow.. I open myself up and show myself and my energy to that person
<angeleye> and if its necessary I can direct the energy to follow a natural healthy course through the body
<Hermes`> I can see the potential in that technique
<angeleye> but I prefer if he or she can feel their energy connecting with mine
<angeleye> and make the dance in synchronicity
<angeleye> its not difficult at all. It's easy if you are used to "seeing2 energy
<angeleye> that's how I work. I am trying to learn to depend less on the opening and participation (conscious) of the patient
<angeleye> How do you practice to know more.. or refine your understanding of the universe Hermes
<Hermes`> well I get most of my training from nonphysical teachers in out of body trips.
<Hermes`> then I try to practice physically what they teach me
<angeleye> yes.. Do you heal people?
<Hermes`> I did do many physical healings when I was living up in New York...
<Hermes`> now I am no longer in that kind of circle, but I do heal long distance these days.
<Hermes`> I either use meditation or out of body travel.
<angeleye> ok...I have a friend who does that
<angeleye> I am told now that I must sleep
